The goal of the e-codices project is to digitise and provide online access to medieval and early modern manuscripts kept in Swiss libraries. The documents are reproduced in their entirety and include a scientific description. To date, researchers and the public can consult around 833 manuscripts from 34 libraries. The project is coordinated by the University of Fribourg.

The Martin Bodmer Foundation has taken an active part in the project since 2006. Today, some 90 manuscripts are available online.
